UPDATE:
Carson was feeling more and more pain in his upper leg and hip starting a couple days after getting home from the hospital. 6 nights ago, it became manageable but brutal and by Thursday, unbearable.
So, late day Thursday, we fed the dogs an early dinner, loaded up the car and headed back to the ER. With unmanageable pain, they admitted him to the hospital so he could receive IV meds.
The CT scan was unremarkable, suggesting no infection and nothing out of alignment. Our belief is that his pain was driven by laying in a hospital bed for 9 weeks with very little movement. Then his new movement on crutches at home and PT, and a substantially modified posture caused inflammation and tension in muscles and ligaments that were pulling on bone and nerves, causing severe pain.
So, after two nights of pain management in the hospital, we got him home yesterday. His spirits are good, he’s just really tired. Two friends came to visit yesterday, which was wonderful.
Making progress on range of motion in the knee in prep for first knee surgery. We hope the next couple weeks will be quite boring.

Man what a road that kid’s been on. Glad he’s home and the spirits are up. Tell Carson to rest up, we’re all pulling for him and you!!
I am on the site!! Happy to hear Carson is home! Cheering for Carson and keep going in the right direction. Hugs Phys and Roger
